The Finance Reporting Manager is responsible for leading the Finance Reporting team in delivering accurate and timely statutory and external financial reporting for the Singtel Optus Group of companies. The role involves overseeing financial close and reporting activities, ensuring compliance with IFRS, local regulatory requirements, and Group accounting policies. The manager is also responsible for leading and developing a small shared services team, managing reporting processes, and supporting audit activities by working closely with Group Finance and external auditors to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.

 

Make an Impact by

  • Leading monthly financial close and reporting activities, including journal postings, reports, and month-end processes, while ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies.
  • Managing balance sheet reconciliations, following up on aged open items, and preparing analysis for review with onshore leads to support accurate statutory and external reporting
  • Supporting interim and year-end audits, including preparation of audit schedules, liaising with external auditors, and responding to audit queries
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives through automation and adoption of new tools and systems to enhance processes and workflows
  • Providing guidance and support to team members on accounting and operational matters, managing escalations, and promoting cross-training and knowledge sharing within the team
  • Assessing and resolving accounting issues, including escalating complex or non-standard matters where necessary
  • Leading the preparation and review of statutory financial reporting deliverables and ensuring reconciliation and close processes support statutory disclosure and external reporting requirements

 

Skills for Success 

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, with a professional qualification (ACCA, CA(M), CPA Australia, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting, with team management experience
  • Strong knowledge of GL, month-end close, IFRS, and statutory reporting requirements
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems, and strong Excel skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, improvement-driven mindset
  • Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work independently with sound decision-making
