Head of Investment, Nxera
The Head of Investment will lead Nxera’s investment activities, driving corporate transactions, capital markets engagement, and portfolio optimisation to support sustainable growth. This role requires deep expertise in structuring and executing high-value deals, interpreting investor sentiment, and delivering business models that maximise returns while supporting the Group’s broader strategy in digital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Transactions & Business Development
- Originate, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities in the data centre industry, including M&A, joint ventures, and partnerships.
- Manage end-to-end deal processes - from due diligence and valuation through negotiation and post-deal integration.
- Build relationships with industry players, advisors, and financing partners to strengthen the company’s deal pipeline.
Capital Markets & Investor Engagement
- Monitor global capital markets and investor sentiment to guide investment and financing decisions.
- Partner with Group Finance and Strategy teams to structure funding, including debt, equity, and sustainability-linked instruments.
- Shape and communicate compelling investment narratives to investors and stakeholders at Group level.
Portfolio Optimisation
- Lead active portfolio management across local and regional data centre assets, ensuring alignment with Group targets.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews and identify opportunities for divestment, capital recycling, or operational improvement.
- Establish investment performance KPIs (e.g., IRR, yield, cash-on-cash returns) and ensure discipline in delivery.
Business Modelling & Strategic Alignment
- Build robust financial and business models to support investment decisions, scenario analysis, and market entry strategies.
- Provide insights to the senior leadership team and Board, ensuring investments align with the Group’s overall growth and ESG commitments.
- Collaborate closely with Group Strategy and ESG teams to embed sustainability into investment decisions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 12–15 years in investment banking, private equity, infrastructure funds, or corporate development, with experience in data centres, digital infrastructure, or real estate strongly preferred.
- Track record of executing large-scale cross-border transactions (USD 100M+), including M&A, joint ventures, and capital raising.
- Strong knowledge of capital markets, investor dynamics, and financing mechanisms.
- Advanced expertise in financial modelling, valuation, and portfolio management.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with proven experience working across Group functions and with senior leadership.
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related discipline; MBA or CFA preferred.
