The Infrastructure Capacity Planning Engineer is responsible for the capacity planning of systems, Databases, Middleware, Storage, backup, Network devices and security governance. Environment comprising the public, private and hybrid clouds.


  • Responsible for existing infrastructure in Production environments and upcoming new projects capacity planning as well. Apply an integrated approach to plan and implement by working together with other solution specialist and SME.
  • Analyze capacity needs to operate our services and planning/executing to meet defined requirements.
  • Define and document Capacity thresholds, Track and report capacity for Business-Critical services, recommend capacity optimization initiatives, work with respective Technical tower on post incident investigation on issues related to capacity, responding to audit matters related to IT Capacity management.
  • Propose and technically drive the capacity right-sizing initiatives/ upgrade / technology refresh program.
  • Define and enforce the service quality for all types of providers we work with, evaluating them against our definitions, and selecting the best providers that meet our standards.
  • Maintain an always up-to-date inventory of all infrastructure resources, as well as all associated contracts, licenses.
  • Support server resource deployment, migration and other demands, including server scrapping, reconfiguration and relocation.
  • Manage within acceptable risk levels as defined in Datacenter, cloud, infrastructure provider and server security risk categorization system with respect to capacity.
  • Identify and analyse patterns of business/infrastructure activities to understand the levels of demand that will be placed on a domain or system.



  • Degree in computer science/ Information Technology, Industry certification, eg. AWS, Azure, VMware (VCP/VCAP), Microsoft and DELL EMC qualifications. CCNA certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with Infrastructure capacity planning, security hygiene and best practices, compute/storage infrastructure experience.
  • Should demonstrate strong experience on capacity planning, or capacity engineering.
  • Should possess Strong logic ability, sensitive to data, good data collation and analysis ability.
  • Good understanding of Infrastructure capacity management tools within the Datacenter environment.  
  • Key platforms in the capacity management scope –  Operating Systems ( Windows, Linux, Unix), Databases, Middleware, Virtualization(VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, Azure stack HCI), Storage & Backup, Network Devices (Firewall, LB, Switches and Routers).
  • Passionate about the infrastructure compute products platforms, with systematic thinking and overall view, good communication and coordination skills, problem-solving skills and sense of responsibility.
  • Excellent Communication skills and ability to interact with people at all levels.
    Certifications with ITIL, VMware, Microsoft technologies will be preferred.
