Lead Solution Designer, Product

The Lead Solution Designer is responsible for leading the design, delivery and operational management of the Product Configuration using Amdocs MEC tools and platforms. This role will lead a team of developers and offshore resources supporting the MEC environment across project delivery, enhancement, deployment, production support and transformation initiatives within the Telco domain. 

The role requires strong technical leadership, solution design expertise, stakeholder management capabilities, and hands-on experience in telecom OSS/BSS environments. The successful candidate will act as the domain SME for MEC applications and drive end-to-end solution delivery aligned with Singtel architecture, operational and governance standards.

Domain Expertise 

• Understand solution standards, guidelines, policies and best practice for technology, application and data within the domain 
• Provide timely and detailed Domain knowledge for use by Architects and Domain Architects in support of development of the overall IT Strategy and other architectural artefacts 
• Acquire knowledge in present and emerging technologies and standards for access, fixed and mobile networks. 

People Skill 

• Providing mentoring for less experienced team members and helping with the establishment of best design practice with peers and solution designers across Singtel IT. 
• Peer reviews of other solution designs. 
• Focus on peer engagement.
• Participate in and lead Knowledge Sharing design focus sessions. 

Offshore Team Leadership 

• Lead and manage offshore support and delivery resources across application support, enhancement of delivery and operational activities.  
• Provide technical guidance, prioritization, design direction, and performance oversight for offshore teams.  
• Ensure effective knowledge transfer, documentation, handover and support readiness for new and changed solutions.  
• Mentor offshore team members and build capability across functional, technical and operational areas.  
• Drive continuous improvement in support processes, delivery quality, automation, documentation, incident reduction, and operational efficiency.  
• Ensure offshore teams follow agreed delivery, support, governance and quality standards 

Skills for Success: 

• Strong background in telecom OSS/BSS, especially MEC or related operational platforms. 
• Proven ability to design scalable technical solutions from business needs. 
• Experience leading development/support teams in enterprise environments. 
• Hands-on expertise in enterprise applications (configuration, integration, troubleshooting, batch processing, data analysis). 
• Solid experience across application lifecycle: production support, incident/problem/change/release management. 
• Familiarity with ordering and billing system integrations.\ 
• Technical skills in SQL/PLSQL, Unix/Linux scripting, APIs, and enterprise integrations. 
• Vendor management experience, including design reviews, estimation validation, and delivery governance. 
• Experience managing offshore teams. 
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving abilities. 
• Ability to act as a senior escalation point for complex issues. 

Preferred Skills 

• Experience with Amdocs MEC platforms (development, integration, or support). 
• Track record in improving production stability (automation, monitoring, optimisation, etc.). 

Ideal Candidate Profile 

• 10+ years in ICT with large-scale delivery experience. 
• Degree in IT, Computer Science, Telecom, or related field. 
• Strong OSS domain expertise (e.g., Service Fulfilment, Inventory, Order Management). 
• 6+ years in project delivery and fulfilment domain. 
• Programming experience (e.g., Java, Groovy, PL/SQL). 
• Knowledge in at least one architecture domain (application, data, infrastructure, or network). 
• Exposure to at least two market segments (e.g., Consumer, SMB, Corporate). 
• Knowledge of telecom products (e.g., mobile, broadband, and VoIP). 
• Understanding network technologies (e.g., mobile, IP, transmission). 
• Experience with OSS solutions from vendors like NetCracker, Oracle, or Ericsson.
