Our SMB Business


The Optus Small and Medium Business (SMB) team is a team of passionate experts who help Australian businesses with a range of solutions including mobile, fixed landlines, networking and internet. This role is in our SMB Direct Sales Force which represents the top Sales Channel within Optus SMB focused on the Medium businesses (100 - 300 employees) in our segment.

Our customers are our focus, and they’re growing, and growing fast. We must be anticipating the needs and requirements of our existing and new customers, by providing them game changing experiences. Our SMB Segment is Australian businesses with 1 to 300 employees and represent a significant area of growth for Optus SMB.


The Role


The primary purpose of the Business Development Manager (BDM) role is to acquire new business through self-generated prospecting and company supported Lead Generation to grow company revenue and subscriber market share in the Medium Business Segment (100-300 employees). Reporting to the Sales Manager, the BDM will need to be highly motivated, energetic with a can-do attitude to exceed business targets and execute strategies to grow market share in the SMB segment. The role will also involve working closely with a dedicated Solutions Consultant to drive whole-of-business customer solutions and extend market reach.


Attributes & Experience  


A proven track record of success in SMB sales, face-to-face relationship selling and prospecting new customer opportunities is vital and success in this role will be evident through the achievement of business targets such as new mobile connections, mobile broadband and fixed voice/data.
