Communications and Campus specialist - 4 days a week (12 months mat leave contract)

The Communications and Campus specialist acts to maintain and maximize the experience of the Optus Macquarie Park Campus for our people, making Optus the best place to work. Pivotal to this is developing and delivering a unique physical and social environment on Campus, building a strong sense of community and creating engaging communications.

 

Significant relationships that are critical to success in this role include strong partnerships with Corporate Property, Facilities, HR and Corporate Services, as well as external consultants and agencies. Great communication skills are critical to the success of this role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to develop engaging communications including guides, banners, Facilities notices and interstate communications where required.
  • Maintain and leverage successful working relationships within the business to deliver Employee Experience initiatives.
  • Work with Corporate property to deliver Campus improvement projects and ensure the spaces on Campus are being maintained and are equipped for intended use.
  • Project manage annual Retail Survey including results analysis, communications and presentation of the results to the Retailers.
  • Ensure the Campus retail offer remains fresh and meets employee needs through weekly liaison with Campus retailers and working closely with the Campus Retail Leasing Manager
  • Cost Centre and budget management

About you

You are a self-starter with a curious mind and collaborative attitude – preferred skills and experience include:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working on similar projects
  • Would suit well organised communications specialist.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Results driven with effective consultation, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to manage various projects to tight deadlines at the same time
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and be accountable for project budgets.
  • Ability to influence peers and broader resources to ensure delivery of the business requirements
  • Ability to negotiate with external stakeholders such as consultants and suppliers to ensure a cost effective outcome that meets all objectives.
  • Great communication skills and ability to build relationships with diverse teams
  • Have intense curiosity - a desire to go beneath the surface of a problem, find the questions at its heart and distil them into a very clear set of hypotheses that can be tested
