About your team ...

 

The Optus TV & Content team have been busy acquiring a portfolio of exclusive content rights over the last few years including Premier League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa league, J-League, UEFA Nations League and Euro 2020.

 

Are you the sports-loving salesperson that will come onboard and help us build our commercial / public viewing business? Do you have the selling experience we desire to upscale our on-premise partner (pubs, clubs, bars, hotels) portfolio?

 

About your role...

 

You will be responsible for growing our account base by identifying venues which are not currently broadcasting the Optus Sport channels and developing relationships and opening new accounts to increase market presence and achieve sales targets.

 

You will be the face of Optus Sport to commercial venue customers in the territory and will be responsible for commercial relationships by identifying and understanding customers’ needs and dynamics in the marketplace; discuss pricing, promotions, merchandise requirements and look for opportunities to enhance the overall Optus Sport brand in market.

 

Additionally, you will manage the end to end sales process, preparing and presenting sales collateral and ongoing account management you will be provided the freedom deliver on your strategy within the territory.

 

Reporting into the Optus Sport Commercial Venues Manager, you will bring prior sales and account management experience within the on-premise (pubs, clubs, hotels, etc.) sector or similar. You’ll have existing relationships in market but not be afraid to prospect and cold call for new business.

 

The more successful you are the more opportunity you will be provided to grow the role and deploy other sales staff in your territory.

 

Your key ingredients for success...

 

  • Relevant business development and relationship management experience in a similar capacity and well-established contacts in the "licenced" domestic hospitality (pubs/clubs/bars/hotels) market;
  • Proven experience working independently with limited manager oversight, able to track and report to sales targets;
  • Proven experience in selling to on-premise venues such as pubs, clubs, bars, RSL’s, etc.;
  • Commercially astute, outstanding people skills, good IT proficiency in sales CRM systems (preferably Salesforce);
  • Engaging sales / hunter mentality with high influencing skills with strong emotional and professional resolve;                
  • Own transport and license (this role will require you to be out of the office selling 90% of the time - so a car and license will be required);     
  • Highly motivated with strong initiative, proactive and forward thinking, considered, balanced and mature in judgment; &      
  • Advanced negotiation and consulting skills, as well as top-shelf account management skills – i.e. Customer service does not stop once the customer signs a contract.
