The Product Management department is responsible for managing all Optus Branded products across Postpaid and Connected Devices for the Consumer customer segment. The Product Manager is a critical role in the Product Management team with responsibility for identifying seasonal, customer and segment opportunities for customer and revenue growth, and executional efficiencies. Key opportunities involve developing sustainable strategies to ensure we deliver to our annual operating plan across acquisition, customer retention, subsidy & 5G device adoption.

 

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Developing a strategic plan for device launches, tactical and strategic initiatives
  • Closely monitoring competitor marketing and execution
  • Supporting tactical and strategic plans to address any performance gaps
  • Maximising efficiency of offers and promotions through elasticity metrics and post implementation reviews 
  • Maintaining “watching brief” on trends in the market, both domestically and internationally
  • Leveraging the Customer Insights capability to understand and track consumer behaviour, market developments competitor activities and owning the conjoint model
  • Providing strategic thought leadership, product design, propositions, strategy and market/customer analysis driven through deep insights into the Optus customer base and the market and which bring the Optus brand to life
  • Providing input for new ideas and opportunity identification. All proposition decisions will be underpinned by a sound knowledge of our competitive position, alignment with business objectives and rigorous analysis and modelling

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Solid product marketing experience, over 5 years in telco market
  • Degree qualification
  • Strong commercial analysis skills (excel)
  • Demonstrated experience in project management
  • Experience with technical, financial and commercial analysis
  • Demonstrated understanding of consumer product strategy development lifecycle and product roadmap development and maintenance.
  • Strong time-management and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and responsibilities.
  • Good project management skills
  • Working to tight deadlines in a constantly changing market
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to think strategically in commercial day to day pressures
