At Optus, we see personalised digital self-service as a key driver of brilliant CX.  We are now looking for a Product designer to drive and improve adoption of Optus’ digital self-service solutions.

Digital Agile Squad – Apps Product Design

This squad is responsible for the optimisation of a key capability across multiple sections in the My Optus App which is used by millions of our customers. Specifically, they focus on the multi service section of the app. This squad will continuously optimise and create new experiences for our customers who have more than one service with us. Our end goal will be to ensure our customers who hold more than one service with us, can have a seamless and enjoyable experience monitoring and self-servicing using My Optus App.

The role

As the UI/UX Apps Product Designer, you will;

  • Design from low-def to high-def artefacts including sketching, wireframing, interactive prototyping, and visual design.
  • Apply user-centered design processes, usability heuristics, and evidence-based practices to design UI for Android (Material) and iOS platforms.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary squad to define problems, generate solutions, and formulate recommendations that will be socialized with stakeholders and leadership
  • Facilitate discussions around your work and its iterations, including exploratory and collaborative working sessions with team members and partner stakeholders

About you

You will be pragmatic and passionate, seasoned in working in a fast-paced Agile environment. Unconventional mindsets welcome!

Other preferred skills and experience include:

  • Experience designing iOS & Android apps.
  • A self-starter who collaborates with designers, engineers, product owners, business stakeholders, marketing and other teams in the company.
  • Hands-on experience with the product design process, from problem definition through to detailed UI and visual design.
  • Can iterate low-fidelity user flows and interface designs and translate those into beautiful high-fidelity designs using Sketch etc.
  • Creating prototypes through user research and requirements gathering
  • Experience in Agile is advantageous, however, we will also train you and put you through a bootcamp!


This role will help find the right digital self-service solution for our customers. This is a digital first, customer focussed position. The success of this role follows design thinking methodology and will succeed through collaboration and innovation.
