Date: 10 Mar 2026

Location: Macquarie Park, Australia

Company: Singtel Group

Optus is an Australian telecommunications company, delivering more than 11 million services to our customers every day across mobile, broadband and digital solutions.

We’re looking for a strategic and technically strong leader to own and evolve the vision, strategy and operation of our Customer Data Platform (Salesforce Data Cloud). As the Associate Director – Customer Data Platform, you’ll build unified customer profiles that power personalisation at scale across Consumer and SMB — enabling smarter decisioning, richer customer engagement, and safe, compliant data activation.

This role blends deep platform expertise with strong governance, cross‑functional leadership and data‑driven thinking. You’ll partner with Marketing, Technology, Data Office, Analytics, Decisioning and external partners to deliver a high‑performing, secure and future‑ready CDP ecosystem.

What You’ll Do

  • Set and own the enterprise strategy, vision and roadmap for Salesforce Data Cloud, ensuring alignment to customer, marketing and business priorities.
  • Govern data models, ingestion patterns and usage policies to ensure safe, compliant and high‑quality data.
  • Oversee platform configuration, integrations and data flows across diverse online and offline sources.
  • Prioritise the CDP roadmap, balancing business value with technical feasibility.
  • Drive unified profiles that enable personalisation and decisioning across channels.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams and maintain strong stakeholder alignment with Marketing, Technology, Data Office and business leaders.
  • Monitor platform performance, risks and opportunities to ensure measurable business impact.

What makes you perfect

  • Deep expertise in Salesforce Data Cloud or similar CDP platforms, including ingestion, unification and activation.
  • Strong understanding of CRM, transactional, behavioural, retail and call‑centre data ecosystems.
  • Proven governance, compliance and data‑quality capability across privacy and regulatory frameworks.
  • Data architecture literacy, able to guide design and integrations at a strategic level.
  • Strong strategic leadership with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and align data initiatives to business outcomes.
  • Skilled in analytics, problem‑solving and identifying optimisation opportunities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Salesforce certifications strongly preferred.

What's in it for you?

  • Competitive remuneration and employee discounts. Make life easier (and more affordable) with $80 monthly credit and 25% off Optus products and unique shopping discounts with our retail partners.
  • Flexible working arrangements with opportunities to work three days in the office, two days remote or home.
  • Vibrant and collaborative office campus that includes cafes, convenience store, chill out zones, GP, post office, gym and on-site childcare centre.
  • Competitive leave policies, including additional 'Connected’ days to focus on culture, family, health, community, or whatever’s important to you.
  • We support growing families with inclusive, carer-neutral paid Parental Leave of up to 16 weeks.
  • Direct your own development and build future-ready skills with Optus U’s industry-focused micro-credentials, developed with La Trobe and Macquarie Universities.
  • Build meaningful connections through employee-led networks and diversity initiatives including Culture Connect, Elevate Women, Disability Network and Express Yourself (LGBTQIA+).
  • Put your wellbeing first with free access to counselling and support services, 24/7 — in-person, by phone, SMS, or video.
