We’re looking for an experienced, commercially driven and relationship-focused Account Director to lead a portfolio of Optus Enterprise’s most strategic customers. In this role, you’ll own the end-to-end engagement of high-value accounts (typically $30M+ TCV), driving growth across managed services, ICT, and outsourcing solutions.
You will be responsible for expanding revenue, profitability, and market share by building trusted executive relationships and identifying new opportunities—often worth $50M+ over three years. A key part of your success will come from enabling co-creation with customers through innovation initiatives, proof of concepts, and early adoption of new solutions.
As a senior leader, you’ll act as a market ambassador for Optus’ enterprise capabilities while leading a growing team of account and sales professionals. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to deliver exceptional customer outcomes, maintain high customer satisfaction, and accelerate growth in complex enterprise environments.
This is an opportunity to shape strategic partnerships, influence product innovation, and play a pivotal role in the continued success of Optus Enterprise’s largest customers.
What You’ll Do
- Own and grow strategic accounts by delivering against revenue, profit, and growth targets while identifying and closing new opportunities across ICT and managed services.
- Build and maintain C-level relationships within key customers, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor and driving long-term partnerships.
- Lead and develop high-performing teams, including Account Managers and broader sales resources, to deliver exceptional customer engagement.
- Drive co-creation and innovation with customers through proof of concepts, early adoption, and contributing to the product development lifecycle.
- Shape and execute account and go-to-market strategies, collaborating with marketing, internal stakeholders, and partners to grow market share.
- Champion customer satisfaction and advocacy, embedding a trusted advisory approach while building strong brand references and anchor tenant opportunities.
What You Bring
- Extensive experience in strategic sales and account leadership, with 10+ years in IT or telecommunications and at least 5 years operating at Account Director (or equivalent) level.
- Proven success in complex, relationship-based selling, with deep experience managing long-term customer partnerships and developing strategic account plans.
- Demonstrated ability to drive growth and acquisition, consistently delivering revenue outcomes while strengthening customer loyalty in enterprise environments.
- Strong commercial and strategic acumen, with the ability to identify opportunities, shape solutions, and influence outcomes across large, complex organisations.
- Executive-level stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence building trusted relationships across C-suite, IT, and business leaders.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a business or related discipline, underpinning a solid foundation in commercial and strategic thinking.
