The Application Specialist - Atlassian Tools will collaborate with multiple delivery teams to support, configure, and enhance the end-to-end delivery of our tech ecosystem. In this role, you’ll drive the transformation, maintenance, and upgrading of processes and workflows, deploy new technologies, and utilise the Atlassian tooling suite (Jira, Jira Align, Jira Service Management and Confluence) to boost team productivity for thousands of internal users. Your day in the life of an Application Specialist - Atlassian Tools at Optus:

  • Lead and own initiatives to define, design, and implement delivery technology solutions that improve business processes and system capabilities
  • Improve team productivity by ensuring that delivery tooling, specifically utilising Atlassian products - Jira and Confluence, is optimised for user needs
  • Translate business requirements into detailed user stories and functional specifications to accelerate time to market for new features and bug fixes
  • Enhance confidence in the change and release process by providing frameworks for effective business analysis during system transformations
  • Maintain and continuously improve process integrity by ensuring business solutions align with organisational goals, stakeholder requirements, and long-term business strategy
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across multiple stakeholders and business units within Optus, as well as with vendor partners

Your skills to pay the bills:

  • Proficiency and extensive admin experience utilising as Jira Align and Jira Service Management will be highly regarded
  • Outstanding communication and documentation skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement experience
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Experience in developing and refining business processes, requirements gathering, and workflow automation
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as Git, TeamCity, and Bamboo is advantageous
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure providers like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform is a plus
