The Associate Director, GTM and Planning is a meaningful role within the overall Small Business team, reporting to the Director, GTM Operations. It is a key operational role, with overall accountability for ensuring the effective development of a strong and impactful GTM strategic plan for the Small Business segment, partnering with insights and product teams to ensure direction and aligned priorities drive the right focus and positive outcome for Small Business segment.

A key measure of success will also be the quality of the execution and enablement across the team, partnering with key areas to deliver an outstanding customer experience. This role will play a lead role in marketing governance, ensuring legal, regulatory and GTM processes are being followed to ensure the right customer and business outcomes are being achieved. The role supports Small Business and will partner closely with other GTM teams (both in our Consumer and Enterprise space), to contribute to building a centre of GTM excellence with a standardised approach, cadence and governance.

 

Your day in the life at Optus
 

  • Leading GTM planning:  for the Small Business segment, ensuring we've the right plan in place to over-achieve on all our metrics, working closely with critical teams to supply to the achievement of key revenue, net connections (sales and retention) and EBITDA targets.
  • Leadership: The role indirectly leads a small team and has a focus on developing the capability of people not only directly in the team but across the whole Optus organisation as we build the focus on the Small Business segment.
  • Exceptional customer experience through a strong, coordinated GTM plan: Orchestrate exceptional experience and outcomes for our business customers through driving effective go to market programs, integrated to deliver the best results.
  • Customer Focus: Act as a ‘customer proposition champion’ across all GTM initiatives to ensure all internal and external execution is integrated and aligned to the segment strategy, with a laser focus on customer experience. This role will play a leading part in key internal GTM processes.
  • Process: Ensuring adherence to the centralised GTM processes to enable the best outcomes, this role will be passionate about process and experience optimisation, delivered through strong change management frameworks. Driving strong GTM and marketing governance, ensuring legal, regulatory and GTM processes are being followed to support our customer experience ambitions

  • Ability to approach business challenges with a customer-first attitude and a strategic, solution-focused perspective.
  • Strong skills in go-to-market (GTM) planning, with a background in marketing, agency work, or product management.
  • Effective at establishing relationships, negotiating, and collaborating with a diverse range of partners and teams.
  • Capable of leading both overarching strategies and detailed operational plans with a focus on improving customer experiences.
  • Exhibits leadership skills through clear communication, a strong focus on customer needs, and a dedication to ongoing improvement and performance optimization.
