The Channel Partners – BDM Distribution is responsible for driving growth through Optus’ distribution partners and Tier 2 channel network. Acting as the primary point of contact for distributors, this role focuses on building strong relationships, managing pricing and incentives, and ensuring achievement of sales targets. The position involves strategic planning, operational oversight, and execution of marketing initiatives to expand Optus’ presence in the channel market while fostering collaboration across internal teams and external partners."
Your day to day will consist of
- Serve as the trusted advisor and main contact for the distribution partner, managing all aspects of the relationship.
- Lead pricing, commission, and incentive discussions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Monitor and report on monthly, quarterly, and annual performance against targets.
- Develop and execute distributor account plans and quarterly marketing initiatives.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders to support distributor strategies and enablement activities.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews and maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline reporting.
What makes you perfect for the role?
- 7–10 years of relationship sales management experience in IT or telecommunications, with at least 3 years in a distribution account management role.
- Proven success in strategic selling through distribution or Tier 2 channel partners, including long-term business planning.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of achieving growth and revenue targets.
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, including experience engaging at executive levels.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic account plans and marketing initiatives.
- Tertiary qualification in business or a related discipline.
- In-depth knowledge of IT and telecommunications products, competitive landscape, and industry trends.
- Highly developed communication and presentation skills for influencing internal and external stakeholders
