Architecture Chapter Lead

Position Summary

 

To take our customer experience from best to obsessed, this role will create and drive the delivery of consistently exceptional customer experiences through Chapter leadership in Architecture and Solution Design Craft. This role will be expected to interface with multiple business units to deliver changes with improved time to market across various business units to create lasting customer relationships. The portfolio of products that the Chapter Lead of Engineering and Architecture will support includes Consumer, Optus Business, Optus Enterprise and Digital changes for multiple Optus Products. The scope includes Architecture and Design of all OSS Applications.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for creation and execution of OSS Architecture strategy and roadmap (all OSS Applications)
  • Craft and develop the OSS Applications and Solution Architecture and ensure it is aligned with organization and business goals/objectives.
  • Oversee all solution architecture aspects and ensure solutions are inline with the Architectural principles and guidelines e.g. decoupling, reusability etc
  • Responsible for governance, managing the assessments from Optus and Vendor partners leveraging of the strong design knowledge on OSS Systems
  • Review requirements and ensures system functionalities & capabilities are future proofed and extensible
  • Support the prioritization of OSS Engineering delivery initiatives
  • Ensure alignment with Optus standards and industry best practice on cyber security and operational resilience

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

  • 10+years design experience in Consumer, OB, OE  initiatives ( Telecommunications & information technology)

•Strategy, Design and Architecture experience

•Application Design and Solution and Systems development experience

•Knowledge and awareness on Agile Ways of working.

•Knowledge and awareness on Agile Delivery Management, Governance and Methodologies

•Creating the functional and technical design for a single application according to specified business requirements.  Creating specifications detailing application functionality and use cases, as well as documentation demonstrating the overall technical design in terms of hardware, software, databases and third-party frameworks that the application will use or interact with.

•Understand business context and requirements for the application.

•Design simple application components using modelling language such as UML and assess functionality of different elements.

•Produce high-level functional and technical design documentation, with supervision or review.

•Document complete application design covering functional and technical aspects, and review and modify the overall design documentation.

•Translate complex ideas and concepts into an application design and establish key design principles and methodologies.

•Able to coach others in application design.

•Adapt and align design standards, principles and guidelines to current and future business needs.
