The Cyber Security Lead is responsible for delivering and managing cyber security services for Optus Enterprise and Business clients, including security architecture, engineering, monitoring, risk management, and compliance activities. The role requires strong expertise across multiple security domains, client engagement, and modern security technologies, including AI and machine learning, while working closely with stakeholders to design, implement, and continuously improve security solutions and controls
Your day to day will consist of

Lead day-to-day security operations, engineering, monitoring, and administration across enterprise security platforms and tools.

Evaluate, implement, and optimise emerging security technologies, including AI-enabled capabilities, to enhance detection, response, and compliance outcomes.

Maintain and improve security controls, vulnerability management, threat detection, policy compliance, and client security reporting.

Conduct security risk and threat assessments, develop security standards and procedures, and drive remediation activities with stakeholders.

Lead end-to-end incident response, including investigation, containment, recovery, post-incident reviews, and continuous improvement of response playbooks.

Coordinate security activities across clients and delivery teams, manage compliance obligations (ISO 27001, ISO 20000, SOC 2), and provide threat intelligence advisories.
What makes you perfect for the role

Strong hands-on experience with enterprise security technologies including SIEM, IDS/IPS, Endpoint Protection, Vulnerability Management, and IAM platforms.

Proven expertise in security incident response, covering the full lifecycle from detection and triage through to recovery and post-incident reviews.

Experience developing security processes, procedures, incident response playbooks, escalation pathways, and operational documentation.

Knowledge of AI/ML-driven security capabilities, automation, and analytics to enhance threat detection, investigation, and reporting outcomes.

Demonstrated ability to support project delivery, client engagements, audits, risk assessments, and security solution evaluations.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to perform effectively in fast-paced environments.

3-5+ years of security operations experience, preferably supported by scripting skills (Python/PowerShell), security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CRISC), and familiarity with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and regulatory frameworks.
