The primary role of the Delivery Lead - Solution Design is to define solutions in line with the DATA OFFICE (DO) (Data Platform and Data Management) architecture principles and guidelines to support business needs and growth.

The Delivery Lead - Solution Design leads squad’s delivery through solution implementation on existing on-prem and future cloud platform by ensuring solutions quality and standards are upheld and enforce to the DATA OFFICE (DO) delivery, architecture, and design standards.

The Delivery team follows agile methodology and apply DATA OFFICE (DO)’s delivery framework and processes, besides providing a level of Operational support for the relevant DATA OFFICE (DO) solutions.


This role reports to Chapter Lead Solution Design and works closely with DATA OFFICE (DO) Architects, Data Engineers, Data Management, Business Stakeholders, Operations team, and vendor delivery partners.


Your day in the life at Optus
 

  • Have an end-to-end vision and see how a logical design will translate into process & data solutions through the layered architecture within the DATA OFFICE (DO) landscape and Cloud providers application ecosystem.
  • Deliver, manage, and govern Solution Designs implementation patterns, frameworks, standards and best practices for data and capability products of DATA OFFICE (DO).
  • Concurrently work across multiple DATA OFFICE (DO) projects, providing direction to delivery teams regarding architecture, solution & design for initiatives.
  • Perform Detailed Solution Designs, Impact Assessments, Costings and Timelines. Contribute in Delivery planning, technical & solution risk managements.
  • Maintain and contribute to continuously improving DATA OFFICE (DO)’s CICD and DevOps framework, processes, tools and overall IP / documentation, partnering closely with TMO, Ops and other relevant domain teams.
  • Responsible in explaining the high-level solution to the collaborators and how it maps to the requirements.


Your skills to pay the bills
 

  • Degree or equivalent experience qualified in IT, Computer Systems, software or computer engineering fields or equivalent.
  • The right person will combine deep technical ability with superb communication skills, possessing industry experience and strong current solution architecture, design (implementation/consulting) experience.
  • Hands-on experience as data engineer/solution designer specializing in Big Data & Databricks platform.
  • Design and implementation experience in data related solutions involving data ingestion (real time and batch code), stitching, data collection and processing including curation.
  • Agile methodologies and ceremonies – PI/Big Room Planning, Sprint showcase, backlog grooming, sprint planning etc.
