Director, Talent Acquisition
Date: 24 Sept 2026
Location: Macquarie Park, Australia
Company: Singtel Group
Optus is an Australian telecommunications company, delivering more than 11 million services to our customers every day across mobile, broadband, and digital solutions.
This is not a traditional Talent Acquisition leadership role.
This is an opportunity to redefine how one of Australia's most recognised brands attracts, engages and hires talent. You will influence enterprise-wide workforce outcomes, lead a team of talented recruitment professionals, drive innovation through technology and AI, and help build diverse, high-performing teams that power Optus' next chapter.
Reporting to the General Manager, People Services & Delivery, you'll lead Talent Acquisition across experienced hires, retail recruitment and contingent workforce, while partnering closely with our executive leadership team to solve some of the organisation's most important workforce challenges.
Why this role matters
The people we hire today will define who Optus becomes tomorrow. As Director, Talent Acquisition, you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop and execute the talent strategy that enables growth, transformation and future capability.
- Lead a talented team through the next evolution of Talent Acquisition, creating a culture of excellence, innovation and collaboration.
- Elevate our employer brand and ensure Optus remains a destination employer for exceptional talent.
- Harness technology, automation, analytics and AI to create market-leading hiring experiences.
- Champion Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging through meaningful partnerships, innovative attraction strategies and measurable outcomes.
- Influence executive decision making through workforce insights, talent intelligence and strategic advice.
Who we're looking for
We're seeking a leader who combines strategic vision with genuine care for people. You'll bring a strong track record of leading enterprise Talent Acquisition functions and know how to balance transformation with execution. You are equally comfortable shaping strategy in the boardroom as you are coaching leaders, developing your team and rolling up your sleeves to solve complex talent challenges.
Most importantly, you'll be a collaborative leader who:
- Inspires and develops high-performing teams.
- Creates environments where people can do their best work and feel they belong.
- Builds trusted partnerships across truly diverse stakeholder groups.
- Challenges conventional thinking and embraces innovation.
- Leads with authenticity, curiosity and courage.
What’s in it for you?
- Competitive remuneration and employee discounts. Make life easier (and more affordable) with $80 monthly credit and 25% off Optus products and unique shopping discounts with our retail partners.
- Flexible working arrangements with opportunities to work three days in the office, two days remote or home.
- Competitive leave policies, including additional 'Connected’ days to focus on culture, family, health, community, or whatever’s important to you.
- We support growing families with inclusive, carer-neutral paid Parental Leave of up to 16 weeks.
- Build meaningful connections through employee-led networks and diversity initiatives including Culture Connect, Elevate Women, Disability Network and Express Yourself (LGBTQIA+).
- Put your wellbeing first with free access to counselling and support services, 24/7 — in-person, by phone, SMS, or video.
If you're energised by transformation, passionate about people, and excited by the opportunity to shape the future workforce of Optus, we'd love to hear from you.
