The Strategic Partner Manager nurturing and expand relationships with global ICT and communication companies, including Microsoft, Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, Dubber, Akami, and Invia. This role is pivotal in driving the company’s strategic objectives through the development and management of high-value partnerships that support Optus's growth and innovation.

 

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional negotiation skills and a proven track record in managing business performance and achieving accreditation milestones to maximize partner rebates. They will be instrumental in aligning the company’s goals with those of its partners, ensuring mutual success and long-term collaboration.

 

In this highly strategic and influential position, the Strategic Partner Manager will be responsible for setting the vision and strategy for the partnership, ensuring that all initiatives are aligned with Optus’s broader business objectives. They will also play a critical role in identifying new opportunities for collaboration, driving innovation, and ensuring that all partnerships are managed with a high degree of professionalism and integrity, in addition the Partner Manager will carry a rebate revenue target generated from partner rebate programs which need to be monitored and optimized.

 

What You will Do

  • Build and maintain strong strategic partner relationships aligned to Optus’s goals, developing joint business plans and identifying growth and innovation opportunities.
  • Agree and manage partner roadmaps to ensure aligned objectives, effective delivery, and clear governance through regular engagement and well-documented agreements.
  • Monitor partnership performance against KPIs, using data-driven insights to identify trends, address underperformance, and support business growth in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Manage partner accreditation requirements to maximise rebates and value, coordinating audits, ensuring compliance, and maintaining up-to-date documentation and standards.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and market developments to identify new partnership opportunities and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Deliver clear, timely reporting and insights on partnership performance, risks, and opportunities to senior leaders to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.

  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience driving team performance, engagement, and people development.
  • Highly effective communicator and project manager, with an innovative, results‑driven mindset and knowledge of franchisee and direct ownership models.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, or a related field, with 10+ years’ experience in strategic account and national account management.
