Junior Project Manager (6m secondment)

Job Summary

 

The role supports the Robotics Operations Centre, Data and Project Teams who are accountable for financials, contracts, and overall transformation management and project delivery for all BU’s across the organisation.

 

This position is responsible for the day-to-day delivery, operational and logistical matters that confront the IT Business Partner division and to provide support to the Associate Director for Data and Automation for AU.

 

The role requires a good understanding of Project Management, project delivery, demand and supply management, contracts and financial management. Whilst the Junior Project Manager does not have direct accountability for the project delivery, they indirectly contribute to project performance by collating and providing project information and services to allow the effective management of the project(s). Although from time to time the Junior Project Manager will have direct accountability to deliver small and less complex projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

    1. Resolving program/project escalated issues and disputes while maintaining constructive working relationships and achieving schedule commitments
    2. Use of project management artefacts to ensure effective outcomes such as:
  • Accuracy of forecasting
  • Delivery timelines and schedules are met
  • Prepare resource plans and manage ongoing resource forecasts
  • Adherence to quality standards
    1. Assist with project pipeline prioritization
    2. Negotiation at project team level for balanced outcome
    3. Support the management of the Robotics Operations Centre
    4. Assist with the development of the operating processes and tools
    5. Assist with the performance tracking, reporting and improvement

 

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

Proven Project Management Skills with up to 1 – 3 years of relevant experience managing small size IT projects (50 - 200K/ up to 5 team members and multi-vendors environment)

1.         Computer literacy including Project Management software tools (MS project, Excel, PowerPoint)

2.         Budgeting - Financially literate

3.         Ability to question

4.         Anticipates difficulties and identifies contingency plans

5.         Ability to commercially engage vendors and clients

6.         Able to assume responsibility for meeting financial outcomes
