The Manager, Cyber Security Operations will lead the delivery of Managed Security Services for Enterprise and Business customers. Combining technical expertise with people leadership, you will oversee security operations, manage risk, ensure compliance with industry frameworks and customer obligations, and drive service excellence.
Working closely with clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders, you will lead a high-performing team while championing continual improvement, emerging technologies, and AI adoption. This role is ideal for a proactive cybersecurity professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding customer outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and develop a high-performing Security Operations team, providing coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance to drive strong customer and business outcomes.
- Oversee the delivery of Managed Security Services, ensuring service excellence, SLA compliance, and effective risk management for Enterprise and Business customers.
- Facilitate security governance, compliance, and audit activities, ensuring alignment with policies, regulatory requirements, and frameworks including ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 2, and IRAP.
- Act as a security and technical SME where relevant, providing expertise a cross networking, security platforms, security architecture, and incident management.
- Build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders, communicating security risks, influencing decisions, and ensuring customer expectations are consistently met.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement, leveraging automation, AI, and emerging technologies to enhance security operations, efficiency, and overall service delivery.
What You Bring
- Proven leadership experience leading and developing high-performing Security Operations teams within enterprise or managed services environments, or Security Operations Centre (SOC) management experience.
- Tertiary qualified in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or a related technical field, ideally holding one or more industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CISA, or equivalent
- Strong technical expertise across networking, security operations, modern security platforms, cloud security, and security architecture principles.
- Solid understanding of security governance, risk, and compliance, with demonstrated experience managing audits and maintaining compliance across frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 2, IRAP
- Demonstrated experience managing security incidents, vulnerabilities, and cyber risks, with the ability to drive effective resolution and continuous improvement.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the confidence to influence outcomes and translate complex security concepts for technical and executive audiences.
- A passion for cybersecurity, innovation, and AI-driven technologies, combined with a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Australian Citizenship with an active Federal Government / AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance, or eligibility to obtain one.
