We are seeking a Manager, National Energy to join our team based in Macquarie Park, Sydney. In this role you will be responsible for optimising Optus’s national energy management strategies and ensuring cost-effective electricity procurement for our telecommunications network. Your role will involve leading energy reduction programs, being a great partner with key stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with energy regulations.
The day to day
- Manage electricity bill administration and financial processes. Ensure delivery of "Electricity Administration and Analysis Services" contract KPIs, establish appropriate metrics for electricity routine and exception reporting, and review electricity data capture for accuracy and completeness.
- Lead the end-to-end process of securing retail pricing and services, recommend strategies to optimise electricity procurement, and ensure contracts are current and renewed without penalty.
- Ensure electricity supply agreements meet emissions targets, establish renewable energy supply arrangements, and verify that these agreements meet renewable targets.
- Prepare forecasts, secure capital for programs, and manage government rebate opportunities
- Provide expert advice on energy management and market trends.
Why you are our next Manager, National Energy
- Extensive experience in developing and leading energy management programs for large and multiple facilities portfolios.
- Degree or equivalent experience in a technical or facilities management-related field.
- Strong working knowledge of the energy sector in Australia, including current challenges and the sector's transition.
- Experience in progressive purchase arrangements preferred
- Experience in delivering energy reduction programs for technical centres.
- Familiarity with energy regulations and standards.
- Ability to collect, analyse, and interpret complex quantitative data and information.
- Exceptional relationship management and leadership skills.
- Experience in influencing and presenting to senior management and board-level executives.
