The Principal is responsible for delivering end-to-end Core Network design, configuration, performance and automation outcomes across service chains, ensuring alignment to defined design intent, operational requirements and automation guardrails.
The role operates across Core domains including Packet Core, Voice/IMS, Policy & Charging, Signalling, Subscriber Management, Network Exposure and Telco Cloud, translating system-level direction into practical engineering outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Deliver and optimise core network design, configuration, and automation across service chains, ensuring alignment with overall E2E design intent.
- Maintain standardised interfaces, parameters, and configurations across domains, systems, and vendors.
- Analyse cross-domain performance and implement tuning and automation to improve throughput, latency, availability, and utilisation.
- Define and track E2E KPIs and use operational insights, incidents, and trends to drive continuous optimisation.
- Align engineering, architecture, and operations, resolve conflicts, and ensure smooth integration of new capabilities and vendor solutions.
- Implement controlled, policy-driven automation with guardrails, ensuring safe execution, effective triggers, and reliable recovery mechanisms.
- Embed resilience, risk management, and design-for-operations principles, leveraging operational KPIs and incident learnings to improve service stability and recovery.
What You Bring
- Strong technical expertise in one or more Core Network domains, with working knowledge across adjacent domains
- 15+years experience in automation/cloud-native/cross domain optimisation.
- Experience in network configuration, parameter tuning and performance optimisation
- Hands-on experience with automation, scripting or orchestration tools
- Understanding of Core Network KPIs and operational performance drivers
- Ability to translate design intent into practical engineering and configuration outcomes
- Experience working in complex, multi-vendor, integrated environments
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to identify and resolve cross-domain issues
- Ability to work effectively across engineering and operations
