Join our dynamic IP Service Edge team at Optus, where you'll be at the forefront of designing IP core and Internet services for our network. These services are crucial for building mobile, fixed, and business customer services, ensuring seamless core IP interconnection across the Optus network and international connectivity to the Internet. As a Principal Technical Specialist, you'll provide technical leadership for IP design, encompassing solution architecture, scoping, design, testing, documentation, and implementation in the production network.
The day to day
- Lead technical components of IP network design.
- Provide technical recommendations and strategy for IP and Transmission networks.
- Act as a prime technical interface with technology providers.
- Plan and design new architecture topologies and service implementations.
- Specify, define, and document design processes and standards.
- Generate network design, testing, and implementation documentation.
- Set up lab environments and perform testing.
- Perform assessments and design updates to ensure network components meet specifications.
- Coordinate and resolve network design and process-related issues.
Why you are our next Principal Technical Specialist – IP Service Edge
- Transmission design and testing experience in a Telco environment.
- Experience with configuring and operating Cisco, Juniper, or Nokia routers.
- IP network and Internet network design experience.
- Proficiency with core IP and transport technologies including BGP, MP-BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS L2/L3 datacentre technologies.
- Extensive experience in telecommunications, with at least 3 years in an IP Network Design role.
- Product development and customer design experience.
