As a Release and Deployment Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of full life cycle release management functions including scheduling, change and deployment coordination and management of releases for multiple applications and infrastructure across various complex environments.

You will manage releases in a standardised manner in relation to the Optus and customer policies, procedures and plans. You will report directly to the Optus ITSM Federal Government Customer Delivery Manager and lead the implementation of Release, Change and Deployment Management process across the account aligned to ITIL framework, to ensure the process requirements and applicable controls for the Customer’s environment are robust.

Your day in the life of a Release and Deployment Manager at Optus

  • Build a pipeline of pending releases with the Optus internal stakeholders
  • Define and agree Release and deployment plans with the customers
  • Working with account resources, primarily Project, Technical, Incident and Release Management to deliver client outcomes.
  • Operating proactively and successfully within a multi-vendor environment.
  • Delivering to the customer contract for Change and Release design and operation
  • Ensuring Project Managers and subcontractors comply with the Optus and customer Process.
  • Representing and implementing Release successfully for the customer’s environment.

Your skills 

  • You must be an Australian Citizen and have, or are willing to apply for a Federal Government customer clearances.
  • Extensive experience in or working with Change/Release/Incident Management/Project roles.
  • Willing to work after hours as required for after hours deployments.
  • Release/Change reporting and compliance skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion.
  • ITIL 4 Foundation Certificate, desirable.
  • Ability to exercise strong governance of process in high-pressure situations.
  • Experience in negotiating with key partners to achieve a win-win situation.
