The Role:

 

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will require a strong analytical skill, attention to detail in leading both business and technical requirements to deliver a cost-effective business solution for major projects, product development and customer experience improvement initiatives.

 

Being the representative for Optus Wholesales Operations, you will be responsible for driving resolution of issues to maintain or improve operational efficiency. This role will interact with senior management as well as dealing with senior designers and operational people within Engineering, IT and Networks, it requires good communication and stakeholder management skill.

 

Based at our Macquarie Park Campus, this is 12 month contract position supporting both business and technical delivery for all changes as well as driving resolution of all issues. The Business Analyst is accountable to lead all changes be it major or minor via several delivery channels which includes a structured release plan. A key accountability for this role is to be able to work on Customer business requirements and then lead the internal technical teams to deliver against these requirements.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Analysing solution options to achieve business outcomes, and the time/cost implication of each
  • Analyse the impacts to OWS and the customers based on the high-level solution options from prioritization.
  • Facilitate requirement workshops with impacted customers to gain and detail the requirements delivering a good customer experience; recommending direction to the business based on the cost/benefits trade-offs. This includes all the non-functional requirements such as service level requirements, performance, and security.
  • Liaise with Solution Designer to drive an efficient business solution delivering the best customer experience.
  • Performing requirements Traceability: Supervising the evolving solution design and development to ensure the impacts of the solution on the business operation is well understood if there are any gaps. Working with vendors and Optus workgroups to clarify business needs in the solution.
  • Accountable for document draft & update such as Work Instruction, Operations Manual, Customer Comms and maintain the documents in a central repository.
  • Accountable for UAT & BRT: Facilitate UAT and BRT with the relevant partners to verify the delivered solution meeting the business requirements; develop test cases for UAT & BRT; leading discussions to close defects identified during UAT & BRT.

 

About You:

 

  • Solid experience as a Business Analyst with at least 5 years developing requirements that impact multiple systems and functional areas.
  • Degree qualified in Business or a related team and exposure to Business Process Re-engineering advantageous.
  • Significant experience in a telecommunications environment specifically in the mobile technology.
  • Solid experience working with a structured development methodology, supported by ability and experience in analysing complex technical issues and to identify resolution paths.
  • Previous experience in large scale billing systems (preferably in a Telco environment.
  • Experience in change management with solid experience working as a BA on large projects.
  • Background in defining and leading IAs within a technology framework.
