Senior Network Engineer

The Senior Network Engineer - Packet Core is a hands-on technical role responsible for network design and delivery of Packet Core solutions. Acting as a technical input for assigned initiatives, this role develops network design activities from initial scoping through to implementation in the production environment.

Your day to day will consist of

• Lead network design for assigned projects, covering scoping, high‑level and detailed design, testing, implementation, and operational handover.
• Produce, review, and approve high‑quality network design documentation with strong technical governance.
• Independently develop network solutions aligned to business and product requirements.
• Deliver change and deployment activities, including production configuration, change documentation, and Tier 3 operational support.
• Define and maintain Packet Core network standards, processes, and best practices, driving continuous improvement and automation.
• Act as a key technical liaison with internal stakeholders and vendors across engineering, architecture, operations, and commercial functions.
• Provide technical leadership through presentations, trusted advisory support, and strong cross‑functional relationships.

What makes you perfect for the role

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in telecommunications, including at least 2 years in a senior Packet Core design role.
• Strong hands‑on experience across Packet Core network architectures and environments.
• Solid understanding of core protocols and technologies including Diameter, GTP, HTTP/S, SCTP, TCP/UDP, and IP routing and switching.
• Experience using network test tools, methodologies, monitoring, and management platforms. Working knowledge of APIs and their application within network solutions.
• Familiarity with Ericsson Packet Core solutions (EPG, DRA, MME, DNS) and network automation tools (e.g. Ansible, GitLab) is desirable.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work autonomously within large, complex network environments.
