The Senior Network Engineer - Signalling Core is a hands‑on technical specialist responsible for designing and delivering signalling core network solutions from initial scoping through to production implementation. The role provides strong technical leadership by producing and governing high‑quality network designs, collaborating with peers and vendors, and ensuring solutions balance technical excellence with operational and commercial requirements.
Your day to day will consist of
- Lead technical design and delivery for signalling core projects, covering scoping, high‑level and detailed design, testing, implementation, and operational handover.
- Produce, review, and approve high‑quality network design documentation with strong technical governance.
- Independently develop network solutions aligned to product and business requirements.
- Prepare change management documentation and perform configuration and deployment on production network devices.
- Provide Tier 3 operational support, including fault resolution, maintenance, and lab‑based testing and validation.
- Define and maintain signalling core network standards, best practices, and contribute to automation and innovation initiatives.
- Act as a trusted technical expert, engaging internal stakeholders and vendors while delivering clear technical communication and leadership.
What makes you perfect for the role
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in telecommunications, including at least 2 years in a senior Signalling Core design role.
- Strong hands‑on experience across Signalling Core and Packet Core network environments.
- Solid knowledge of signalling and transport technologies including Diameter, SS7, SCTP, and IP routing and switching.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting Signalling Core architectures and solutions.
- Experience with network testing tools, methodologies, monitoring, and management platforms, with sound API knowledge.
- Familiarity with Ericsson (cpDRA/csDRA/DEA), Oracle (STP) Signalling solutions, and automation tools such as Ansible and GitLab pipelines.
- Excellent technical documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
