As Senior Platform Engineer – Internet Services you will create, maintain, and optimize critical ISP systems that support broadband service delivery and help advance our multi-platform private cloud strategy, working with both commercial and open-source virtualization tools. 

 

 

 

What You’ll Do 

 

  • Manage and improve ISP core network service platforms, including:
    • RADIUS, DHCP, DNS Services
    • Provisioning & Activation Systems
    • TR-069/ACS CPE Management
    • NBN and Carrier Interconnect/Integration
  • Ensure platform reliability, redundancy, security, and compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain backend application logic primarily using Perl and Python.
  • Optimize and coordinate PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB databases.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to support proactive fault management.
  • Troubleshoot complex cross-domain issues (network, application, database, OS) and provide Tier-3 support for operations teams.
  • Drive root-cause analysis (RCA), build permanent fixes, and enforce long-term reliability improvements after incidents.
  • Assist in mentoring Tier-1 and Tier-2 support teams and support knowledge transfer.
  • Prepare, maintain, and continuously update operational documentation.
  • Plan and complete platform upgrades, migrations, scaling, and capacity improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with IP network engineering, security, product, and infrastructure teams to improve customer experience and service delivery.

 

 

 

What You Bring

 

  • Expert knowledge of RADIUS and strong understanding of DHCP and DNS or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with TR-069/ACS and CPE lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with NBN integration, provisioning APIs, and ONT/GW activation flows.
  • Advanced coding in Perl and strong scripting/development in Python.
  • Experience integrating with REST APIs, XML/JSON services.
  • Bash scripting and automation skills.
  • Experience managing PostgreSQL and MySQL in a production environment, along with practical knowledge of MongoDB.
  • Strong expertise with Linux server administration (RHEL).
  • Knowledge of kernel networking, system tuning, performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with load balancing, clustering, HA, failover technologies.
  • Monitoring tools experience (Prometheus, Nagios, Grafana, ELK/Splunk optional).

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in large-scale or carrier-grade ISP environments.
  • Exposure to containers (Docker/Kubernetes) is beneficial.
  • Messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus.

 

 

Soft Skills

 

  • Strong analytical and RCA (root-cause analysis) skills for critical systems.
  • Excellent communication for cross-team collaboration and mentorship.
  • Ability to detail complex systems clearly and maintain documentation standards within the field.
