As a Senior Technical Specialist in Optics, you will assist in guiding the onboarding, management, and engineering delivery of optical transport platforms within our DWDM network.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and govern the onboarding process for new optical network platforms, ensuring alignment with corporate standards, architecture principles, and operational readiness requirements.
  • Coordinate the complete lifecycle management of optical transport platforms, encompassing capacity augmentation, software upgrades, and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, configuration standards, and operational handover materials.
  • Plan and complete laboratory evaluations, integration testing, and field validation prior to production deployment.
  • Collaborate with key technology partners and vendors to ensure performance compliance, stability, and support alignment across all optical platforms.
  • Drive engineering automation and analytics initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy in provisioning and monitoring.
  • Partner with Operations, Service Assurance, and Architecture teams to maintain service integrity and deliver strategic improvements to the Optical network.

 

What You Bring

  • Extensive experience in DWDM optical transport systems, encompassing architectural development, platform deployment, and operations support.
  • Plan, conduct, and document activities within the Optical environment, supporting technology trials, feature testing, interoperability validation, and pre-deployment certification.
  • Proven expertise in platform configuration, testing, and commissioning across multiple vendor environments, with strong emphasis on Nokia technologies; knowledge of Infinera and Ribbon is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of Network and Transport Layer integration, including SDH, Carrier Ethernet, and Synchronisation dependencies.
  • Demonstrated capability in automation development and use of APIs or orchestration tools for network engineering and management.
  • Experience working across multi-domain environments including Mobile, Fixed, NBN, CPC, IPIC, and IGR network integrations.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and partner management skills, with the ability to influence across engineering, operations, and vendor teams.
