The Senior Technical Specialist is required to lead the development of Architecture and Design solutions for Enterprise Network products. The successful candidate will use their expert Ethernet, IP, MPLS, Segment Routing and SDN Control automation knowledge to develop Ethernet and IP best practice solutions. The position will be responsible for the creation and lifecycle of architecture, design, test & implementation documentation.
Your day to day will consist of
- Develop end-to-end best practise IP Network architecture & design solutions for Enterprise products and equipment onboarding projects,
- Develop detailed device configurations and design automation APIs requirements.
- Create test plans, conduct laboratory testing and documentation of test results.
- Creation of provisioning and network maintenance processes & MOPs.
- Coaching of Network Engineers to support network design activities.
- Review and approval of vendor delivered design and test documentation.
- Implementation of network changes aligned to the Optus planned change management practices.
- Peer review of network designs and planned changes, providing expert inputs and approvals.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Operations escalation related to Business solution designs.
- Provide input to Tenders and evaluation vendor submissions for technical compliance.
What makes you perfect for the role
- IP Network Technical expertise with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Telecommunications industry with network development experience.
- Practical experience configuring Juniper, Cisco and Nokia Carrier Grade network equipment with preferably vendor certification from one or more of these vendors.
- Experience with automation tools such as Cisco NSO and Redhat Ansible to deliver automated provisioning and zero touch provisioning solutions.
- High level of ownership and accountability for Enterprise solutions; providing full end-to-end product lifecycle from product concept phase to large scale production deployment.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex network solutions to various audiences including Product Management, Operations, Provisioning, Security teams as well as other technical peers.
