Join Optus as a Senior Technical Specialist – Managed Service, where you’ll take operational ownership of managed network and data centre services for enterprise customers. This role contributes to maintaining reliability through proactive problem solving, managing changes, and implementing advanced networking solutions while ensuring compliance with ITIL best practices. If you have deep expertise in Cisco technologies (Data Centre ACI/ APIC), dynamic routing, and scripting, this is your chance to lead and innovate.
Your day to day will consist of
- Ensure network reliability through proactive issue resolution and escalation management
- Implement and manage changes within managed network environments.
- Configure and patch network equipment like Cisco (Data Centre ACI / APIC / Routers / Switches).
- Perform problem management and root cause analysis for recurring issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams and representing Optus in client meetings.
- Develop scripts to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency
What makes you perfect for the role?
- Relevant Engineering/ICT degree or advanced diploma.
- Minimum 5 years in managed services or operational support roles.
- Expertise in Cisco core technologies including Data Centre ACI/ APIC and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
- Strong scripting skills in Python and/or Ansible.
- Experience with network security technologies and encryption.
- Excellent problem-solving, escalation management, and client interaction skills.
- Desirable: CCNP (Data Centre) certifications, Cisco DNAC, and Cisco SD-WAN.
- Ability to obtain AGSVA security clearance; Australian citizenship preferred
