The Service Design and Delivery (SDD) group is accountable and responsible for Development, Solution Design, Testing and Implementation for Consumer/ Enterprise products, solutions and customers in the Optus Fixed Voice, Mobile Voice and Mobile Data network. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Service Design and Delivery within the Mobile Core & Services Engineering (MCSE) business unit in Group Networks
What You’ll Do
This role in Fixed Voice domain supports key components for Carrier Interconnect, International Voice, Business Voice Products and VoNBN. You will be asked to:
- Act as Subject Matter Expert for Fixed Voice Core including fixed voice access
- Prime for Service and Platform Performance Optimisation including vendor management for resolution of all performance deficiencies
- Coordinate production network cutover procedures ensuring minimal customer impact and including seamless network rollback activities if required
- As owner of Fixed Voice Design and Delivery, you will exercise sound judgement, manage day to day functions autonomously, and seek support from leadership only for escalated issues
- Act as prime interface for the Change Management process and prepare accompanying documentation
- Reduce downtime/outages on production elements by ensuring best practices are in use
- Manage the workload amongst other Service Design and Delivery team members and provide technical leadership and priortisation support to them.
- Investigate, develop and deploy new features or designs that will improve the efficiency of existing infrastructure and improve Service performance
- Develop well-prepared, accurate engineering network design and testing documentation, perform assessments of existing network elements
- Maintain test environments at production levels to allow meaningful project testing and production support
- Analyse network performance metrics and provide and implement network optimisation recommendations to improve performance
- Work directly with OE/OW to resolve outages or customer impacting faults
What You’ll Bring
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Knowledge of SBC solutions, Intelligent Network (IN) solutions, and Ribbon C20/CS200, DMS300, across Ribbon products
- Subject matter expertise in Fixed Voice Core architecture
- Hands on experience with Tracing and Monitoring Tools, ideally including Polystar/Netscout/Ribbon products
- In depth understanding of Fixed Network Core design, Signalling flows and Protocols (SIP, ISUP, INAP, RTP, DTMF, SIGTRAN, etc.)
- Experience with HLD/LLD creation, configuration, integration, and acceptance testing
- DevOps toolset knowledge, for example in Gitlab, Infrastructure as Code (IaaC), Ansible
- Strong collaboration skills to partner with other engineering, product, and architectural teams, and provide Tier 3 technical support for the above platforms and services
- Experience in test driven deployment, test automation, and DevOps structures
- High degree of adaptability and flexibility
- Independent decision making skills
- Ability to operate successfully in a high performance, ambiguous environment
