Job Summary
The purpose of this role is to be the Networks lead architect and strategist for the Optus Living Network, as well as the key partner to other business units leading the network thinking around Living Networks concepts, ideas, technologies and solutions to deliver new innovate products. The Living Network is of significant strategic value to the Optus, impacting our customers with hundreds of millions of dollars of future revenue at risk. This project is also complex, impacting multiple business units (Networks, Marketing & Revenue, Digital and IT) thus requiring strong enterprise leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a virtual team in Networks driving the Network capability roadmap supporting Living Networks, aligned with the Product Roadmap
- Develop Network capability and features roadmap, architecture and product capability for Living Networks including but not limited to:
- Orchestration
- NaaS
- 5GC
- DaaS
- Edge computing
- Real time events
- Policy
- Probes
- DNS
- Align the Network roadmap with the Living Network Product roadmap to ensure the network can support the GTM plans for Living Networks
- Lead the capability deployment of the roadmap capability into the network for the above-mentioned technologies
- Significantly lift R&D capabilities through internal team thinking and process, improved engagement via Network Vendors, and establishing external partnerships
- Driving new ways of working lifting through engagement of the networks team into the agile squads supporting Living Networks, and growing the software development capabilities in networks
- Monitoring and reporting progress against the roadmap to senior stakeholders
- Developing network relating costing including Core, edge, RAN, resources, operational support structure and cost etc.
- Supporting the future capability development on all network technologies in the support of Living Networks
- Engaging with senior-level stakeholders, including members of the Optus Executive Committee

Experience and Qualifications
- Previous management of large, multi-year program of work
- Senior stakeholder management experience
- Forge collaborative relationships
- Build strategic agility
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or IT
- Minimum 10 years program management experience
- Strong people management skills including demonstration of being able to manage cross functional teams.
- Design and Architecture experience, involved in the creation of technology roadmaps
- Proven experience with IT & Network Technologies
