Position Summary

 

The DPM Tech Lead Automation Position is a Lead Operations position that enables Group IT to achieve the following objectives

  • Automation Portfolio Management for Data Platforms, Technologies, Business Applications, Interfaces & Data.
  • DevOps People leadership. Involves internal, independent contractor and external teams working as part of Operations and CI.
  • Automation Backlog & Governance enabling agility, productivity and system health benefits.
  • Integrated part of IT Automation and integrated via Optus DevOps & ITIL processes.
  • Work closely with Business, Tech leads and partners for improving system reliability engineering aimed at stability, reliability, auditability and automation.
  • Business adoption support. Support critical use-cases through a stable delivery of services.
  • Technical Leadership in CICD & Automation Tools such as continuous integration, continuous deployment, unit test automation, code standards reviews, logs wrangling & trending, health monitoring

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Automation Portfolio Management for Data Platforms, Technologies, Business Applications, Interfaces, Data Handoffs and Data Services.

As Manager, manage team of DevOps & CI team consisting of internal staff, contractor and external partners

Provide Automation Governance enabling agility, productivity and system health benefits.

Work closely with Business, Tech leads and partners for improving system reliability engineering aimed at stability, reliability, auditability and automation.

Work in an aligned manner with IT Automation teams, command centre and processes for identifying, prioritising and delivering automations  

Work closely with

  • Business & Delivery for Automation & CI DevOps, Operationalisation & enhancements services
  • Data Governance & stewards for data health, data quality, data gates and data incidents

Manage Automation, Improvement and Enhancement backlogs. Prioritise with Business & Architecture teams for a strategic alignment and support delivery

Manage Delivery of Operations Services involving multi-vendor and outcome based contracts

Provide technical leadership for

  • CICD & Automation Tools such as continuous integration, continuous deployment, unit test automation, code standards reviews, logs wrangling & trending, health monitoring
  • Data Analytics, Data Product and Cloud Data platforms used by Optus including but not limited to Cloudera, Teradata, Informatica MDM & RDM, Informatica ELT, Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI
  • Specific Optus Frameworks and Tools such as Ingestion, Transformation, Extraction, Data Anonymisation, DaaS, Eagle, ML & other frameworks.
  • System & Application Monitoring & Alerting, SLA Reporting

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

  • Overall 10+ Years of experience in Data Analytics, Data Warehousing and Data Management
  • 2+ years’ experience in DevOps Management
  • 2+ years in managing operations & CI services using internal and external teams
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in
    1. CICD tool & process enablement
    2. Test automation, Code review automation
    3. AI tools enablement including logs wrangling, data alerting, monitoring
    4. Open source AI & ML tools
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in
    1. Jenkins, Github, BitBucket,Sonarqube
    2. ETL test automation tools e.q. QuerySurge, BiGEval, Informatica Data Validation
    3. Monitoring tools such as Dynatrace
    4. Scala, Java, python
    5. Teradata, Cloudera
    6. Cloud Data Platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
    7. Informatica
    8. Tableau, Power BI
  • Experience with Visualization tools and building of analytical models
