As the Technical Specialist in Facilities, you are responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our critical technical facilities, managing both direct and contracted services across various sites, including remote and major facilities. The role involves leading all aspects of AC, DC, UPS, power generation, cooling, and fire systems, while handling sophisticated, high-risk change requests and fault scenarios.
This role is open to candidates in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.
What You’ll Do
- Provide strategic feedback on cost drivers and mitigation initiatives, advocate for infrastructure standards in planning sessions, represent field operations in network strategy, and supervise operational benefits aligned with the organisational assurance strategy.
- Support vendor governance by managing relationships, ensuring compliance, and minimising contract issues through education and awareness initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of sourcing solutions aligned to the delivery of the required services.
- Support contracted services by reviewing performance metrics, incidents, maintenance, and costs, while also ensuring health and safety compliance through action item follow-ups and audit reviews.
- Provide contractual input for new services, draft updates to agreements and operational documents, and maintain contract repositories while supporting commercial discussions as an SME.
- Assess and approve service delivery variations, revise rate quotes for compliance, and establish performance metrics to supervise supplier performance and ensure service level viability.
- Manage problem and incident management processes across facilities, coordinate with service providers, identify critical maintenance needs, and oversee risk register tracking, while preparing for audits and addressing corrective actions.
- Support the integration of new and replacement systems into facilities by collaborating closely with business partners in engineering, OEM, and deployment to ensure operational readiness.
- Provide mentorship on disaster preparation and recovery for facility systems, focusing on major events like weather-related incidents and critical outages. Also, contribute to power and cooling resilience for minor and major facilities, offering insights to improve site autonomy and efficiency.

- Relevant professional qualifications in a related facilities such as power, aircon or telco, underpinned by formal qualifications in engineering or telco related fields.
- Hands on experience in managing outsourced services, including operational governance and oversight of commercial and consumption spend pools.
- Clear understanding of the key drivers, influences and processes associated with building and operating networks.
- Detailed understanding and business knowledge of operations and platforms.
- Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, with fantastic communication, presentation and influencing skills.
