About the role

As the Technical Specialist – Security, you will take operational ownership of the services that are being offered to Optus Enterprise (OE) customers in the form of Managed Network and Security (MNS) Services. You will provide deep technical security expertise to the OE customers who have purchased a secure SD-WAN or Network Access Control services.

An important aspect of this position is to provide security related technical leadership to analysts and be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex faults, identifying, and remediating the root cause of incidents via problem management methodology as well as reviewing, scoping and implementing complex customer requested changes across Network and Security technologies. You will also be involved in the configuration of networks and security solutions such as Aruba, Cisco, Fortinet, F5, Meraki, and VeloCloud.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate professional, pro-active qualities in dealing with clients both internally and externally
  • Take ownership of customer issues escalated to you and update the incident manager and customer as appropriate
  • Complete monthly vulnerability reports meeting customer contracted requirements
  • Ensure customer security procedures, located on the intranet, are current for the security solutions being managed
  • Maintain network and security as-built documentation whenever a new solution or project creates or modifies these designs and/or documentation
  • Maintain and support attack detection and security event management technology and processes
  • Perform detailed threat analysis and write security advisories on security threats evolving over the internet as well as those evolving in customer and internal networks
  • Support the initiative to take a market-leading position on next-generation SD-WAN, Software-Defined Access (SDA), and Network Access Control technologies

About You

  • Experience in the ICT, Network, and Security or Engineering field or 8 yrs in a service provider capacity, with solid focus on MNS Services
  • Manage a client environment, leading internal security infrastructure, and external network vendors
  • Implementation and support of Multi-protocol/Multi-platform and vendor environments
  • Extensive experience in a security operations role and supporting Security solutions

Technical skills required

  • Cisco ISE, Aruba Clearpass, Fortinet, SD-WAN, VMWarew or Velo Cloud, Viptela and Firewall, Cisco DNA Centre, F5 Technology, SIEM solutions, Splunk
  • CCNA, CCNP, ITIL, F5(desirable)
