In this role, you will be part of the SingTel Group Risk Management to ensure effective risk management with a specific focus on managing risk within commercial operations by ensuring adherence to the Group Contract policies. You will build partnership with senior leaders and cross functional stakeholders to lead and implement bespoke projects to improve the overall risk management framework within SingTel. You will provide insight, share best practices and provide guidance over emerging risks within the Telecommunication and Technology industry. 

 

The role provides support to the Risk Management Committee (RMC) which in turn supports the Board / Risk Committee (RC) in the oversight of the Group’s risks and mitigations, as well as the adequacy and effectiveness of the Group’s risk management and internal control system.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

The role is expected to perform the following responsibilities:

Contract Management

  • To support the business in assessing the risks and adequacy of mitigations within commercial contracts.  The volume of contracts requiring Group Risk Management’s review vary from time to time and can take up to 60-80% of the Manager’s time. 

Risk Management

  • To proactively drive the risk management practices in the Group Enterprise Business Unit across strategic, financial, operational and compliance risks.
  • To engage stakeholder within Group Enterprise Business Unit and act as an advisor to promote risk awareness culture within SingTel through risk awareness programme (communications, workshops, dialogues) and sharing of past learning.
  • To facilitate the preparation/update of the risk registers (and relevant risk reports containing risk indicators) which identify and assess the key risks facing the Group Enterprise.
  • To review the internal controls in selected risk areas and develop appropriate risk mitigation plans to mitigate the risks.

     

 Projects/ Advisory

  • To lead and deliver specific projects within Group Enterprise with the support of cross functional stakeholders across SingTel
  • Support in ensuring that there is comprehensive and effective Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans across Group Enterprise
  • Evaluate the adequacy of Insurance coverage and cost effective coverage within Group Enterprise Business Unit when deemed necessary

     

The ideal candidate should have/ be:

 

  • A good degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Law or Economics.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in enterprise risk management, consulting or auditing. Knowledge of Business Continuity and Disaster planning and Insurance requirements would be advantageous
  • Good knowledge of risk management and control concepts, leading risk management practices and standards (e.g. ISO 31000, COSO)
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to lead and influence change management
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and communicate with internal stakeholders
  • Experience in working in challenging business environment with proven capabilities in organising, summarising and presenting complex information to stakeholders   
  • Experience in reviewing commercial contracts and good understanding of the legality of commercial contract terms 
  • Proven project management and experience in successfully project delivery. 
  • Good communication (oral, written) and presentation skills and proven track record in interacting with all levels of management. Ability to challenge and influence constructively stakeholder on policy and risk matters. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills - independent and objective
  • A strong team player with positive attitude. Highly driven, autonomous and resilient. Enjoy working in a dynamic and multi-cultural team and business environment
