Manager, Group Risk Management

Singtel Group Risk Management is searching for a specialist in business continuity management and risk governance. The incumbent shall be conversant in the business continuity domain to drive the development & maintenance of group wide business continuity plans. The role entails the assistance in the development, implementation, testing and maintenance of Group BCM Policy and specific BCP/CMP for Singtel’s group of companies (eg. Optus, NCS). S/He should keep a close monitoring on the global and local developments to identify imminent threats to the business operations and partner the business group to perform quick assessment on the potential impact and drive mitigation plans quickly.


The role is required to develop strategic relationships at peer and senior levels and work with cross-regional & cross- functional programme office structure. The incumbent shall support risk governance office as secretariat to Risk Management Committee. To perform the role well, the candidate should preferably have prior experience in fast-paced MNC in technology service provider industry.



  • Accountable of Group BCM Policy that sets out the aims, principles and approach for crisis and business continuity management
  • Perform the role as a Secretariat to the Crisis Management Executive Committees
  • Own the BCM life-cycle management for Singtel Group wide BCM from training, development of plans, testing of plans, continuous improvement and updating of plans.
  • Facilitate the conversation between the SteerCo and different business units to work out dependencies within realistic resource available
  • Drive awareness and improve competency of Singtel business units to uplift the business continuity readiness during incidents and crisis to minimise the damage to Singtel
  • Sourcing for consultancy and systems to better support the BCP and CMP development and exercises.
  • Close monitoring of the macro environment that will potentially impair our business operations
  • Maintain a good database of historical events and incidents occurred to assess the gaps and potential vulnerabilities to be addressed.
  • Facilitate the reporting to risk management committees on material matters, findings and recommendations pertaining to incident/crisis and business continuity


The ideal candidate should have/ be:

  • Bachelor degree in any discipline
  • Certification in BCM (e.g. CBCP, MBCI) is preferred
  • 3-4 years of professional experience in crisis and business continuity, including experience in development business continuity framework is preferred.
  • Experience in similar industry and familiar with cross region & cross functional work team
  • Broad perspective of macro environment development and ability to relate to the business threats in Singtel’s business environment
  • Ability to engage and communicate with stakeholders and C-suites effectively both verbally and written manner.
  • IT savvy with ability to design, source and deploy technologies or systems to effectively support fast communication and logging of activities for incident or crisis management.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Meticulous and pay attention to accuracy of details & good grasp in financial literacy
  • Flexibility to work outside of business operating hours especially when handling crisis situations or special projects
