Key Responsibilities:

  • Design the GPON network technical specification according to Product’s requirements and the agreed/proposed OpCo network architecture, topology, and technology, and translate such design to executable configuration, and conduct various lab test before mass roll-out in the live network.
  • Provide Tier-3 support for any GPON related technical issue.
  • Manage the following key projects in the next 2-3 years:

        -End-of-Life GPON OLT change out, which includes defining the change out technical specification, defining the OSS/BSS

          process,formulating the implementation process, monitoring the change-out process and performance, and fine-tuning the detail 

          technical features and operational processes.

        - Roll out the new xPON (GPON, XGPON, WDM-PON) vendor’s equipment in the network.

         -Define & develop the SDaN (Software Defined Access Network) specification with the vendor partners for xPON, as a critical

          milestone towards the virtualization of access network.

  • Manage and co-ordinate the procurement process and budget utilization which include the following roles:


         -Conduct budget exercise with Product and Finance and develop/execute procurement strategy & plan

         -Track equipment delivery and commission the asset timely. Track the budget utilization on monthly/ quarterly base.

         - Handle the ONT/ONR CPE warehousing issue with other Singtel teams. Ensure that the various field teams have enough

           ONT/ONR CPE stock for immediate installation.

          - Call new tender when necessary and track the contract utilization.

  • Ensure that the installation of OLT will be on time to meet demand of network growth.

        - Work with various teams to ensure that there is enough resource being prepared in advance to install/commission OLT, including

          Netlink Trust & Singtel fibre, IP  core team, etc

  • Perform any other assignments as tasked by the Director. 


The Ideal candidate should possess:

  • Degree in Communication or Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years experiences in Info-Communication Technology (ICT) planning & project management.
  • Good knowledge in telecommunication and networking (CCNA and/or CCNP certification will be an added advantage)
  • Good knowledge of IP and ICT Technology, Access (MSAN and optical technology are preferred) and Transmission (WDM) Network.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software such as Office (minimum: Words, Excel and Power Point), Visio, Project.
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) as well as strong project, vendor and contract management skills
  • Possess drive and energy to explore new ways of doing things to improve existing processes.
  • Willing to learn new things by self-study, on-the-job training as well as through formal training.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
