Join our team as an Account Executive! This role offers an outstanding opportunity to develop and strengthen commercial and strategic relationships with key retail partners in Petrol & Convenience. Your goal will be to generate joint value, promote steady revenue growth, grow market share, and deliver outstanding results across both in-store and online channels. You will collaborate with all Optus brands and various departments to achieve perfect execution and outstanding achievements.

 

Role may be based in Sydney, VIC, QLD or SA

 

What You’ll Do | Your day to day will consist of:

  • Serving as the primary commercial contact for accounts, developing multi-level collaborator relationships.
  • Managing the relationship with the 3rd Party field teams, including commercial, compliance, and executional management.
  • Guiding Joint Business Planning (JBP) aligned to retailer and brand strategies.
  • Negotiating trading terms, cost price changes, investment frameworks, and annual agreements.
  • Owning the customer P&L, including cost to acquire, trade investment, sales & margin mix, and deductions.
  • Building customer plans by banner/channel with pricing architecture, promo strategy, and mix optimization.
  • Delivering an accurate rolling volume forecast by SKU and partner, aligned with S&OP.
  • Collaborating with Demand Planning/Supply Chain to minimize waste and ensure high timely In-Full (OTIF) / On-Shelf Availability.
  • Building and accomplishing customer-specific promotional calendars and measuring post-event performance.
  • Partnering with retailer Category teams to drive category growth, fair share of shelf, and improved planograms.
  • Managing Vendor Replenishment with Supply teams to improve service and on-shelf availability.
  • Ensuring compliance with retailer policies and relevant food safety & ESG commitments.

 

What You Bring | What makes you perfect for the role?

  • Prior industry experience in a similar role is required, with preference for candidates who have worked in fuel or convenience retail environments
  • Strong commercial competence and the ability to manage complex P&L responsibilities.
  • Outstanding negotiation abilities and background in Joint Business Planning.
  • Flawless management of relationships with key collaborators and third-party teams.
  • Ability to deliver accurate forecasts and collaborate effectively with supply chain teams.
  • Expertise in promotional planning and performance measurement.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to bring to bear data insights for category growth.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in compliance and operational excellence.
