Commercial Contract Manager

You’ll be joining a team focused on working across multi-party agreements as a commercial contract manager throughout the contract lifecycle from pre-contract to post contract, assisting with gaining incremental business and resolving commercial disputes with favourable outcomes.
As a contract manager, working on one or more Tier 1 customer contracts (high-value ICT and evolving customer-facing accounts; typically in Financial Services Industry or Federal Government depending on account size and complexity).
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Sales support for new business opportunities with negotiation and drafting of customer and supplier agreements, amendments, statements of works and project activities
- Ensuring a robust post-sales contract management relationship is created with expectation and service quality front of mind.
- Be the single point of contact for escalation of customer / subcontractor contractual commercial issues, disputes, and settlements with respect to contractual requirements. Identify areas to improve the commercial performance of the account including reducing potential exposures or claims from customers or suppliers
- Commercial Risk Management – Interpret, implement and monitor contract obligations (tracking changes, risks and maintaining registers).
- Lead review and sign-off on major services agreements.
About you
You will work with the account team and the customer to help manage risk and mitigation strategies, oversee Optus and the customer’s compliance to contracted commitments, assist in sales enablement for new opportunities, and grow customer satisfaction.
To be successful within this role you will bring demonstrated previous experience in a same and/or similar position coupled with high level relationship skills and the ability to create/execute plans accordingly. Your high attention to detail and ability to identify/solving for solution will be pivotal. Additionally, you will also bring to the role:
- Tertiary degree / Qualifications in either Business, Law, Accounting, Engineering, Project Management and/or relevant Contract Management experience.
- Proven track record in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contract schedules, statements of work, variations and change requests to completion with minimal reliance on Legal support.
- Ability to shape and negotiating complex customer contract agreements and commercial structures.
- Strong commercial, business, negotiation skills and risk management experience.
- Significant experience in ICT, customer-facing and outsourcing services that include strategic business partnering with both customers and suppliers.
- Experience in leading complex commercial disputes to closure.
- Great communication skills and ability to build relationships with diverse teams – this is a customer facing role you will working on the for term of the contract.
- Demonstrable ability to influence in providing business/technical leadership and tactical advice, aligning account plans and activities with broader divisional unit plans.
