The Role:

The group plays a key role in the sales engagement process and is integral in delivering exemplary customer experience. The following is the group’s key contribution to Sales;

 

  • Advice in Optus Business' (OB) fixed carriage products and services to guide a solution to customer requirements.
  • Configuration and detailed design of contemporary wide area networks to integrate into the customer’s ICT environment.
  • Educate the customer in architecture, design and operation of OB’s contemporary wide area networks (WAN)
  • Quoting and pre-sales processes; providing the detail and rigour required for a proposal and ordering.
  • Check carriage orders against design intent

 

And our success comes from effective interaction with many internal groups (and some vendors) to supply component design details and component costs. Therefore, the successful candidate must have an understanding of the technical operation of contemporary ICT environments and be able to converse with peers in our organisation and the customers.

 

The role objective is to support the Optus Business sales teams in; detailed design, network access qualification and handover to delivery stages; of the sales cycle for fixed carriage products. Be the technical lead for OB’s contemporary WAN; investigating customer’s ICT environment, designing and implementing the integration of the new service. And be the subject matter expert on products, services capabilities and processes for standard OB products. 

 

Responsibilities include (but not limited to);

  • Respond to pre-sales engagements to use their understanding of typical enterprise ICT environments to advise sales of OB fixed carriage product selection
  • Where applicable during presales engagement, work with sales and customer in conveying new possibilities of contemporary WAN services and conducting demonstrations.  Internal support provided to develop the knowledge
  • Respond to pro-active or tender quoting engagements in pricing carriage components.
  • Work with the customer to understand their ICT environment and agree on the configuration required integrate OB’s service into the customer’s environment. Put the OB product configurations in artefacts/systems for ordering
  • Where the customer will get a self-serve portal, educate the customer in the decision-making process and translating design into configuration

 

What we are looking for:

You have solid Telco experience with a good understanding of the fixed carriage products (ETE from Sales to service delivery). CCNA or equivalent experience in IP Networking is a must. CCNP would be advantageous. Knowledge of SD-WAN, SDN and Cloud Computing would be advantageous.

 

As this role is highly customer facing, superior stakeholder management and communication skills are an essential part of the role. Additionally, you will have a service provisioning and testing background coupled with experience in dealing with sales.
