Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, the Senior Manager, Compliance will play an integral part in enhancing and managing Optus’ compliance management framework across all of Optus. This will include maintaining appropriate governance, controls, monitoring and reporting arrangements.
As part of the Compliance team, the Senior Manager, Compliance will work with all business units to ensure that regulatory compliance requirements are defined, documented, implemented and adhered to on an ongoing basis. The role will involve significant internal stakeholder management and influencing activities as well expertise in the application of detailed regulatory requirements to the business.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with enhancing and rolling out the Compliance Management Framework across the organization.
- Keep abreast of regulatory developments applicable to Optus as well as evolving best practice in compliance management.
- Assist the business to apply and operationalize complex regulatory requirements
- Reviewing documents and processes to identify potential compliance issues and provide advice.
- Provide insights on the effectiveness and sufficiency of controls and processes and making recommendations for improvements.
- Investigate incidents with compliance aspects and escalating for advice and resolution.
- Apply strong analytical skills to identify early warning indicators of compliance risks and assist with development of controls to mitigate any risks.
- Collaborate with business units and support functions to monitor and report on compliance with regulatory requirements, including preparing reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as required.

- Degree in Law, Commerce, Economics, Finance or related field, candidates with a legal background preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in compliance and/or legal roles within highly regulated industries.
- Proven experience applying and implementing compliance frameworks and managing consumer‑focused regulatory obligations.
- Strong stakeholder influencing and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across all organisational levels.
- Advanced analytical, problem‑solving and assurance skills, including understanding of audit, controls and effective issue escalation.
