The Territory Executive plays a key role within the Mass Market Channel team, responsible for driving the growth, revenue, and distribution of prepaid mobile products. This role focuses on implementing strategies to improve performance within retail and partnership channels through a coordinated prepaid channel strategy. Reporting to the Associate Director, Field Operations and Management, the position collaborates closely with National Account Managers to optimise channel management and improve prepaid activations and sales revenue. The Territory Executive is accountable for driving and delivering results within third-party supported channels at the state level.
We are in search of a sales professional who values commercial aspects, has a history of success in retail sales, and demonstrates strong negotiation skills. While prior telecommunications industry experience is highly valued, the priority is finding a self-motivated, proactive sales expert who can build relationships, drive performance, and contribute to the success of our Mass Market Channel.
Your day in the life of a Territory Executive Victoria & South Australia at Optus
- Drive acquisition growth and exceed targets for prepaid mobile activations in third-party supported channels.
- Develop and implement territory plans to optimise sales opportunities and market share.
- Identify and onboard new sales channels to drive incremental revenue.
- Collaborate with external sales teams to improve performance, training, and in-store execution.
- Manage stock levels, promotional activities, and advertising campaigns to support channel growth.
- Ensure compliance with Optus strategies, policies, and marketing initiatives across all channels.
- Foster strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders to maximise business outcomes.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to workplace health and safety (WHS) standards.
- Required travel between Victoria and South Australia sites to encourage accountability and positive culture.
Your skills to pay the bills
- Proven experience in a retail or channel-based environment, preferably in telecommunications.
- Proven track record to influence external vendors and key merchandising groups in a competitive market.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing both direct and indirect teams.
- Successful track record in new business sales and achieving financial targets.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organisational skills with a proactive approach.
- Personable skills in adapting to change, promoting growth, and encouraging a customer-centered culture.
