About the role

The Key Account Manager is a part of the Retail Sales team and will be accountable for the growth and expansion of Mass Market retailers, managing accounts, performing administration duties, reporting, and providing operational support, which in turn drives subscriber and revenue growth for the mobile brand, amaysim.


This is an integral role within the team, bringing exceptional sales experience, energy and out-of-the-box thinking to achieve growth in new customer conversion through our existing and new retail partners and business development.  This is an end-to-end role involving identifying opportunities in accounts, managing internal and external contacts, negotiating and closing promotional plans, through to overall success of the accounts.


This is a Sydney based role and will require domestic travel.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage key relationships with Mass Market retailers
  • Drive growth and deliver sales and profit targets for assigned accounts in a highly competitive and challenging environment
  • Conduct monthly account reviews and minor and major range reviews
  • Develop and implement new opportunities/promotional plans with the accounts to reach new customers and drive new revenue for the amaysim brand
  • Manage and maintain budgets within the forecast
  • Gain insights from data analytics of amaysim’s performance in retailers via supplier portals including competitor information. From insights gathered, provide recommendations of next steps and review. Keep abreast of competitors’ strategies
  • Be commercially astute in forecasting and planning for performance and promotional activity as well as post promotional reviews including CPA and performance recommendations
  • Engage other stakeholders within amaysim, including Legal, Engineering, Business Operations and Customer Service



About you, you will have;

  • Sales experience including account management and face-to-face reviews with retailers
  • Experience dealing with retail category managers
  • Commercially minded, results oriented sales professional, with proven success in developing and managing the strategy of new and existing channel partners
  • Outstanding negotiation skills, persuasive ability and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaboration skills, with the ability to build good working relationships with the accounts and the amaysim team
  • An optimistic approach, with the ability to balance your positive and resilient outlook to overcome obstacles or setbacks
