We are looking for a Network Engineer (JunOS Factory) to support the operations and maintenance of our IP VPN backbone network, ensuring high network availability, performance, and service reliability. In this role, you will contribute to network expansion, infrastructure upgrades, troubleshooting, and the deployment of new technologies while working closely with engineering teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver a resilient and high-performing network environment.
Make an Impact by:
1. Network Operations & Maintenance
- Perform operational support and preventive maintenance activities to ensure the stability and availability of the IP VPN backbone network.
- Monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive measures to improve network reliability, capacity, and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve faults within the MPLS/IP VPN environment to meet operational and service level objectives.
- Prepare and execute software and hardware upgrades as part of network lifecycle management and continuous improvement initiatives.
2. Network Implementation & Infrastructure Support
- Support network expansion projects, infrastructure upgrades, and the deployment of network equipment, software, monitoring, and management systems.
- Work closely with engineering teams to implement new products, network features, and node deployments while ensuring operational readiness.
- Contribute to the successful implementation of network enhancements that improve service performance and operational efficiency.
3. Service Delivery & Collaboration
- Prepare and maintain network performance reports, operational statistics, and technical documentation to support service management and operational reviews.
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation, operation, and support of IP network services.
- Participate in maintenance activities and support timely restoration of services to minimise customer impact.
Skills for Success
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
- Approximately 5 years of experience in network operations, IP networking, or a similar role.
- Good understanding of networking technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, and MPLS/IP VPN.
- Knowledge of router and switch architecture, software upgrades, and network maintenance practices.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
It'll be great if you also have:
- Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper routers and switches.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or JNCIS.
- Experience supporting IP VPN networks for Tier 1 or Tier 2 service providers.
- Exposure to network design and implementation activities.
- Scripting knowledge (e.g. Shell, Perl, or Python) to support automation and operational efficiency.
