Join Optus in a meaningful and hands-on role where you’ll help safeguard the stability and performance of our telecommunications network. As a Change Manager, you’ll manage the full lifecycle of technical changes. From coordinating fault-related fixes and authoring change requests to working closely with engineering teams and vendors to ensure implementation with minimal impact. You’ll also lead post-change reviews, maintain accurate records in our Knowledge Management System, and contribute to continuous process improvement.
- Location: 100% on site at Macquarie Park, Sydney
- Work Pattern: Rotating shift roster, including morning, afternoon and night
What You’ll Do
- Create and manage change requests in line with ITIL processes, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate with engineering teams and vendors to validate scope, schedule changes, and implement approved work instructions.
- Govern the Forward Schedule of Change (FSC), aligning with maintenance windows and customer embargos, and facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.
- Communicate change plans, risks, and impacts to stakeholders, acting as the escalation point for emergency changes.
- Supervise and review changes post-implementation, conduct lessons learned, update CMDB, and maintain accurate records in the Knowledge Management System.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, support audits and compliance requirements, and ensure configuration updates post-change.
What makes you perfect for the role?
- Relevant qualification in Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong technical expertise in telecommunications networks (mobile, fixed, IP, transmission) and ITIL Change Management principles.
- Experience coordinating changes across engineering and vendor ecosystems, with proficiency in tools like ServiceNow, Service Manager, or Jira.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder leadership skills, combined with an analytical outlook focused on risk mitigation and service continuity.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and drive process improvement for operational excellence.
