Snr Technical Specialist, TT&C Systems

Optus Satellite is currently expanding our fleet of geostationary communications satellites with the procurement of multiple spacecraft. This opens the opportunity for new technical roles in the team. Our amazing team performs the enhancement, expansion and upgrade of Optus infrastructure to operate our new and existing Spacecraft.

A day in the life at the Earth Station

You’ll implement Ground Segment systems architecture, planning, design and across multiple TT&C technologies including RF (Radio Frequency) and Antenna systems, Baseband and Timing systems, and associated infrastructure to support Spacecraft Commanding, Telemetry and Ranging capabilities.

• Driving analysis and recommendations on TT&C systems evolution, enhancement, modification, expansion, and replacement to ensure system compatibility with existing and future related requirements.
• Strive to optimise the cost effectiveness of the existing system within budgetary requirements.
• Provide co-ordination of Satellite Control team and resources to support planning and execution of TOS/DOS/BIU support services, including design, configuration, test and operation of support equipment and systems for new Optus spacecraft and for third-party spacecraft.
• Responsible for ongoing fault analysis, maintenance, repair and sparing of TT&C systems equipment and Ground Segment infrastructure used for on-orbit operations of all spacecraft under Optus control.
• You are the TT&C Systems SME support for the Optus and NBN Co. Ground Segments, and for other customers as required.

• Comprehensive understanding of Space Segment (Spacecraft) concepts and operations and Satellite Earth Station TT&C systems theories.
• Satellite Communication Technologies, Antenna Systems, RF, Baseband, SCADA.
• Experienced in TT&C Systems SME support for the Optus and NBN Co. Ground Segments, and for other external customers as the need arises
• Confidence in taking ownership and accountability of highly complex technical platforms and associated issues within the TT&C environment and Satellite Control operations.
• Ability to provide quick solutions to and resolutions of significant ground systems issues in which TT&C capability or operational functionality is compromised.

**Please note you must Hold or be able to obtain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Security Clearance to a minimum level of NV-1 (Secret)**
