Our Platform Engineering Chapter is dedicated to building and maintaining a resilient, scalable, and efficient platform infrastructure that empowers our entire organisation. We integrate industry-standard technologies, tailoring them to meet our unique needs, and ensure our platforms are future-proofed for long-term growth and sustainability.
As the Principal Platform Engineer, you will lead the development of a high-performing platform infrastructure supporting multiple teams. Your responsibilities include selecting and integrating advanced technologies, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and overseeing the platform's lifecycle from design to optimisation.
The day to day

Lead and mentor platform engineering teams across Agile Tribes and Squads.
- Collaborate with innovation arms to drive edge innovation.
- Define and govern regional architecture strategies, policies, and roadmaps.
- Provide technical leadership, support, and career development for team members.
- Manage recruitment, performance reviews, and ensure a positive, collaborative workplace.
- Ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies.
- Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the chapter.
- Coordinate with Product Owners to maintain business continuity.
- Contribute technical expertise as a Squad member.
- Align stakeholders at the regional level with excellent problem-solving and influencing skills.
What makes you a great fit?
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, or related field.
- Proven experience in leadership roles within the industry.
- Strong skills in budgeting, planning, and forecasting.
- Analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to analyse industry trends and drive innovative solutions.
- Experience managing complex products and capability development projects.
- Expertise in Google AI services and knowledge of data technologies like AI/ML, data lakes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Google, Azure).
- Proficiency in architecting data solutions and understanding IT risk and information security fundamentals.
- Competence in Agile methodologies.
- Customer-focused with a results-oriented mindset and excellent negotiation abilities.
